Post by palekhori »

Can someone help me with this translation? I thought it is in turkish, but there must be some dialect

27 Mayıs öncesi 555K olayını katırlayanlar !!
Bu işi Murat Akay başlattı, kafanıza uyarsa devam ettirin. Ama bu sefer K Kızılay değil Kocatepe :)

No, there is not a dialect but just not "katırlayanlar" but "hatırlayanlar"

The ones who remember the 555K event before the 27 May!!
Murat Akay started this thing, if it fits you, continue it. But this time K is not Kızılay but Kocatepe :)

A few notes:
27 May 1960 is the date of the coup d'etat in Turkey. Kızılay is a name of a quarter in Ankara the capital of Turkey. Adnan Menderes was at the government and the coup d'etat had been done against his government by the military and aftermath Menderes was hung. On 5th may at 5 oclock, in Kızılay square a protest had been made against Menderes. The people protested against the antidemoctratic applications of the government.
Kocatepe is the name of a hill where the big independence War was started by Mustafa Kemal.
