How to greet a young woman in German, sounds like "gan nae de ka" as I remember from HS German

That sounds nothing like German... could you give me an English comparison of what you are trying to say? I'm guessing Guten Tag/Abend or Hallo isn't sufficient ? I asked a friend from Germany and she said it was Mong, apparently a japo-chinese hybrid for how are you. I don't know though, she's kind of crazy.

Esentiel, I think you are right when you say Guten Tag, the
prononciation looks like that but we are never sure. So, if you can
give us more details about that, it will be a pleasure to answer you.

(Genadica) Fräulein, willkommen heißen zu mine Hause

This is stilol an effort to remember high school German. A German exchange student arrives Tuesday and I wanted to "over do it" with a banner greeting.

ALso I am not sure how I got on a French newsgroup--Frence was my college language. Graduated 1963 :lol:
