I might be just hoping but I recently purchased a icon style print I will attach a pic. On one of the robes the design looks as if it may be a signature. All the designs on the rest of the print are very ordered and consistant to each robe but this one just stands out as if it were intended to stand out.Again it may be just wishful thinking on my part but if anyone recognizes this image or the possible script it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
This is definitely not a Cyrillic picture! Look at two figures at the first picture (right side). Those are Catholics. Poses, faces, hairdresses, and plants are styled after Giotto or something like that. It's not an Orthodox icon. It's a Catholic painting.
Perhaps someone recognizes what the painting is depicting. The 2 figures going towards the light while the others encircle the palm tree and the other 2 figures whispering to each other.
It's Paradise or something like that. Two talking figures are Catholic clergymen. Such figures are common e.g. on old pictures of Judgement Day. Where everybody is dying exept such high rank clergy who are standing and watching. Angels and just and holy people dance together on a meadow. Those two coming to the light are probably also saint or just souls entering God's city or temple or so, or coming to God. Maybe one of two talking people or both are portraits of real saints or clergymen. And their life in Paradise is depicted here.
I suggest you to ask your questions on forums dedicated to fine arts. They'd tell you if this is a print of a real early Renaissance picture or just a modern stylish compilation. And they'd tell you what is written there. Such writings on old pictures are also quite usual. All I can say it looks like an old Italian picture or something styled after it.
