According to the report, The global financial crisis triggered in U.S. has exerted an enormous impact on the Chinese enterprises investing abroad. Nearly 50% of the enterprises have pointed out that the turmoil takes its toll to some degree, while up to 40% say there's been a strong influence.
In the current climate, only 7% of them agree to increase the capital for overseas investment, whereas 8% intend to transfer their investment to other countries or change the investment sectors. Still, a good number of the interviewees hold a wait-and-see attitude towards foreign investment after financial crisis.
Only 40% of the enterprises anticipate boosting foreign investment in the coming 2 years, while 40% have no plans for investing. This reveals the Chinese enterprises are adopting a more cautious approach in the present situation.
In addition, more than 50% of the textile and garment enterpirses express that they have no intention of investing abroad in the 2 years ahead, whereas enterprises of IT along with resources development appear to have more interest to invest.
Different goals the various industries may have, they take the investment abroad as a long-term development strategy. Exploring market as their main purpose, they attempt to gain access to the foreign technologies and management experience as well. Other purposes include reducing costs etc.
