Dans ce passage, elle dénonce le racisme qui règne encore à l'heure actuelle. Elle met en évidence les attitudes des blancs envers les noirs.Ici, le personnage principal est blanc et il se sent supérieur.Il est hautain, méprisant et agressif alors que le docteur Copeland ne cherche pas les conflits mais est plutôt quelqu'un de courtois et patient. Mac Cullers présente cette discrimination raciale envers les noirs comme quelque chose de malheuresement encore ancrée dans certaine mentalité en raison de l'esclavage qui existait auparavant. Cette discrimination n'est pas justifiée car les noirs sont des humains comme les blancs et ont également droit au respect et à l'égalité.

Je pense avoir juste plus collé au "mot à mot". Evidence à la place de spotlight...
