Je re^vais d'un poète fantaisiste, sensible è diversité des races des peuples, des pays, pour qui tout serait exotique, ou pour qui rien ne serait exotique ( je crois que cela revient au me^me ), très "international", humaniste, c'est-à-dire capable de faire du Walt Whitman à la blague, de donner une note de joyeuse irresponsabilité.

* for me, "faire du WW" means be as good as him in his speciality... which i don't know at all... for the translation, i made the supposition he was a writer :P

He's a writer indeed. And I agree with you on the meaning of "faire du WW" :) But I still have doubts on "à la blague"...

Sorry my english isn't good enough to propose an accurate translation, but as for the meaning, it's about being a lighter, more playful version of Walt Whitman, writing like another Whitman who wouldn't be so serious about himself.

... the closest thing that comes to my mind is "able to write like a jestful Walt Whitman" but I don't know how it sounds in english, and the level of language isn't the same, à la blague is familiar...

(yes the above message is from me, and yes I can be somewhat obsessive at times :P )
