From English to Sanskrit

Can anyone translate the english word Cheetah or Chitraka into sanskrit for me? Chitraka is a sanskrit word, I'd just like to see how it looks in sanskrit, contemplating a tatoo..

You did a mistake, Sub : what you wrote (व्याघ्र) is "vyâgrhaH", which means "the tiger" !

Cheetah (i.e. cîtaH according to the official transcription) is

चीतः

And chitrakah (citrakaH) is

चित्रकः

But I do not know the meaning of them. Where did you find them, Cheetah ?

PS : I have not found the meaning of "cheetah" et "chitatraka" yet, but I have no sanscrit dictionnary at home. I will try to find them next week... If I do remember.

Do you have courses on budhhism in Quebec's highschools ?! How strange is it.

Well. Back to the subject of that topic :

citrakaH (or chitrakah) means "panther". I suppose that was the cause of Sub's mistake.

I have not found yet "cheetah" ( = cîtaH). But cîtâH (with long 'a') means "thougt, thinking" (therefore it has to be written चीताः)

Of course not

It was only my teacher who taught that. She went two years in India to
help poor childrens

At the end of those courses, she gave us many
big documents on Marathi (middle), Sanskrit (middle), Punjabi (big),
Gujarati (big), Hindi (small) and Konkani (really small).
