Hello,
We don't seem to have any Sanskrit speaker here. Try our translation service. There's an English US - Sanskrit translator.

It must be : mad+putraH + mad+jîvam = madputro madjîvam (the verb "is" is not necessary here). In nagari script :
मद्पुत्रो मद्दीवम
I will ask Vikram about it, but I am quite sure. If can wait until the thursday 30th september, I will have seen my professor at this time.

1. To know more about sanskrit you can e.g. look at http://www.krysstal.com/langfams.html :
« The Sanskrit spoken in North India changed into the modern languages of of the region: Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, Bengali and others. (…Indo-European Family) »
and further:
« The Indo-European Family
The most widely studied family of languages and the family with the largest number of speakers. Languages include English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian, Russian, Greek, Hindi, Bengali; and the classical languages of Latin, Sanskrit, and Persian. »
At http://www.krysstal.com/langfams_indoeuro.html you read more details related to the Indo-European Family:
« The Indic Branch
(Hindi : Urdu : Nepali : Bengali : Assamese : Oriya : Kashmiri : Punjabi : Sindhi : Marathi : Gujerati : Bhili : Lahnda : Maithili : Magahi : Konkani : Sinhalese : Maldivian : Romany : Sanskrit : Pali)
(Extinct languages

This branch has the most languages. Most are found in North India. They are derived from Sanskrit (the classical language of Hinduism dating from 1000BC). This gave rise to Pali (the language of Buddhism), Ardhamagadhi (the language of Jainism) and the ancestors of the modern North Indian languages.
Of the modern North Indian languages, Hindi and Urdu are very similar

Hindi
In India most of the states have their own language

etc.
Sanskrit had three genders as has Marathi; most modern Indic languages have two genders; Bengali has none

The fascinating point about India is that the south Indian languages (like Tamil) are not Indo-European

We recommend not to copy and post dictionary files on any other site since we periodically update and correct this list and we do not want different versions of file floating around the internet
please....
