Latin Translation for Combat Fire Fighters...

I'm hoping someone can be of assistance in translating the following into Latin: "So that others may live."

As a Fire Department Captain serving in Iraq, we wish to hang this Latin phrase in our new fire station.

I suggest you a short form, as Latin authors often loved :

"ad alterius vitam" (for the life of the other one).

Hope this sentence will seduce the Irakis...
