Baia Mare (my native town), approx. 160-170 thousand inhabitants, in the extreme north, 150 km north of Cluj-Napoca, 60 km from the Ukranian boarder, 70 km from the Hungarian boarder. Hungarian speaking community: aprox 22% of the town's population. If you want, I can send you some nice photos from Baia Mare, by email, of course. Medieval and neoclassic architecture in the old part of the town, modern architecture in the new part. The city dates back as far as the early 14th century, 1329, if I'm not mistaken...
