1st answer: Brave at sea and in battle

I don´t find it easy to get a good translation of this. Fortis is brave or strong, well both really. Undis is on the waves - so at sea. Et = and. armis = arms, in the sense of weapons. So it is saying the family is brave and strong both at sea and in battle in general.


2nd answer: Full of courage to face waves and arms

Could be the motto of a Royal Marine, for instance.
