In reo tahiti, reo ma'ohi and reko paumotu :
parahi (The
a is pronounced as in Haw
aii and the
i as in m
illimeter. The "r" is rolled. The "h" is pronounced.)
In reko paumotu (especially in the northmost atolls of the Tuamotu), it is sometimes said
paraki
Another familiar expression in reo tahiti is
nana which would best be translated as "bye bye" but implies "see you next time". (Same pronounciation for the "a".)
