A bad hair day
Hello! All of you...
Sorry, no time to write... But have a look hereunder...>>>
Let's define a [u"bad hair day."¨[/u] >>> Hair has nothing to do with a bad hair day. You don't even need hair to have a bad hair day, and if you have enough of them, you probably won't have any hair left after a few months anyway. For some people, getting up in the morning and having to go to work is bad enough, but when they get to work and anything that can go wrong does go wrong--that's a classic bad hair day. The fact is, only two things can cause a bad hair day: the things we do to ourselves and the things we allow other people to do to us.
The best corrective action is preventive action. If we deal with these little problems when they are still little, we can put out the fire and take steps to keep it from igniting into another full-blown crisis. Next time you have a "bad hair day," think about what caused it in the first place.

Professor LaFrance may have also untangled the psychology behind the phrase "having a bad hair day."
LaFRANCE: "It's one of those phrases in which people nod and say `yes, yes, I know exactly what you're talking about."
"What does it mean exactly?"

If American English is giving you a bad hair day, or you just need to brush up, send us your questions. We'll try to answer them on the air, and we'll send you a souvenir if we do. Our e-mail address is word@voa.gov.

Dieu ! Mais que Marianne était jolie !
Happy to meet you again here, Carla !
Bonsoir Carla !
AltaVista a trouvé 7.270 résultats.
