I'd like to focus on slang terms for tomboy-to all posters

Post by Slangman »

This message is for all the other posters:

I should have been specific when I strarted this topic. The topic was originally "Welsh and Korean slang for Tomboy". I asked that this topic be changed to read, "slang for tomboy in all languages". I specifically asked for slang, and I'd like to focus on slang used for tomboy in other countries.

Can someone please put a lock on this question? I'd rather post request for translation in other forums.

This topic is just fine, please do not open other topics concerning your "tomboy" requests (last warning).

African slang translation for tomboy

Post by MAvericker »

Does anyone here speak Twi, or Fanti?

What are other slang translations in Twi for tomboy besides obaabarima?
What are other slang translations in Fanti for tomboy besides basia-bayin?

Please list as many translations as possible.

I think you can use "vildbasse" "basse" comes from medieval Danish for wild pig, but is nowadays used as an endearment for a boy or a girl that run around and do a lot of unconventional things.

by the way
Æ = Alt+0198, æ = Alt+0230
Ø = Alt+0216, ø = Alt+0248
Å = Alt+0197, å = Alt+0229

It has to be in two words and is not used much, you can call her "vildbasse" too
maybee "flane" but that is more like tart and is an old expression
Have you by the way checked the English <--> Danish here at freelang?

I don't think that there is any word in Hawaiian for tomboy. I searched on Wehewehe.org and there was nothing there.
