Need a Yiddish word.

Post by Yakov Phillips »

Hi! I am translating a sentence from English to Yiddish and I got stuck on the word "saplings" (young trees).

I found one translation -- "schnekn" -- but the definition is "snails; saplings" and I wonder if there isn't a better word in Yiddish.

Please reply here and to <phw73@hotmail.com>.

Thank you!

I don't know much Yiddish, but you might be able to say something like "yunger boymer". Hopefully someone who knows more will reply.
