I love my home?

Post by Craig »

Hello I am an art student and I would appreciate your help. I am making a painting that has many different cute cartoon animals, and each one is standing in front of a house. I would really like to have each one saying "I love my home!" in as many languages as possible. If there is no word for "home," "homeland" or "dwelling" or even "house" would be acceptable. I already have the phrase in Hebrew, Russian, and Korean (and English obviously!). But I want to make a painting that is as inclusive as possible, so any translations would help me greatly. Thanks!

Portuguese: gosto da minha casa

Scottish gaelic: Is toil leam mo dhachaidh (or : 'S toil leam mo dhachaidh)

Spanish : not "quierro mi casa", but "quiero a mi casa", I think. I'd rather say: "me gusta mi casa"

in german:

"Ich liebe mein Heim" (= "home", one could also use the word "Haus" = house --> "Ich liebe mein Haus" )

in italian:

"Amo la mia casa."

in latin:

"Amo domus meum."

czech : mám rád svůj domov / dům / útulek
slovak : mám rád svoj domov / dom / útulok

where domov = home, dům/dom = house (the building), útulek/utulok = retreat, shelter, haven. then you pick the one you find most suitable :hello:

But I know your heart belongs to someone you’ve yet to meet
Someday you will be loved

Chinese (of China, not of Taiwan) : (我)估价我(的)家(庭)

The elements between brackets can usually be omitted.

For German I don't know why but I strangely feel that "Haus" looks better, as "me gusta mi casa" in Spanish

Pour la lecture de , je dirais plutôt "uchi" puisqu'il s'agit de "sa" maison. :jap:
